I gave this book only 3 stars because I didn't like all of flashback sequences in the story. Each man in that unit qualifies as a hero and a super soldier to me, and this book is a well written account of their massive struggles. If you're a military man, you will still love it. The author tells of his quest for a longer, happier life by stopping the energy lossfrom interactions with situations and other people. Well researched and written. The first act seems much more immediate than anything in the other two plays and the pacing makes it easy to understand the conflict between the oppressive tradition required by the mother and the cloistered daughter's desire to choose and act for themselves. But they are entertaining. I am by no means an expert, maybe beginner. The writing is simplistic enough to be believable for a 12yr old's point of view, but the plot itself is unpredictable and full of really good twists and keeps you thinking. He said he was a simple man.
